Google AdWords Editor Version 12.0 Now Available



Google has announced version 12.0 of the new AdWords Editor. It comes with a design refresh and a bunch of new features. The new features include the ability to manage campaigns at scale, including custom rules, faster account downloads, and a design refresh.


Here are the specific changes according to the release notes:


Custom rules: This version lets you create and edit custom rules that notify you of violations to best practices before posting changes.

 Faster version downloads: AdWords Editor now migrates more of your data from the previous version when you download a new one. This makes downloading a new version of AdWords Editor faster. 
 
New design: Version 12 features a new design with easier navigation.


Maximum conversions bidding: This version provides full support for the Maximum conversions bid strategy.


More videos and images for universal app campaigns: You can now include up to 20 videos and 20 images in universal app campaigns.


New optional fields for responsive ads: Several optional fields have been added for responsive ads, including “4:1 logo,” “Price prefix,” “Promotion text,” and “Call to action text.”

The rest is simple: follow the instructions on your screen and start creating a site that will delight your customers, old and new. You can publish your site right away or wait until you’re ready to show it to the public.

Google: Our Quality Algorithms Don't Use Machine Learning In A Targeted Way

John Mueller from Google answered a question about if Google's search quality algorithms, such as Panda, Penguin and others, use machine learning these days. I assume the question was asked by Glenn Gabe and John Mueller basically said Google doesn't use them in a "targeted way." He explained that it might be used for determining as a whole if a site is good or bad but not specifically for specific types of penalties

Google : Less Crawl Rate Isn't Necessarily A Bad Thing

Google's John Mueller said in the pas that crawl frequency and ranking higher are not directly related and you can rank high without a high crawl frequency.
John Mueller said it another way yesterday on Twitter basically saying that if you site sees a low crawl rate, it isn't necessarily a bad thing. John wrote "that's not necessarily a bad thing." "Some sites just don't change a lot, some are just less interesting, every site's different," he added.

Photos Notification in Google My Business

Marissa Nordahl, the Community & Social Media Manager at Google My Business declared in the Google My Business Help forums that Google launching a new notification for photos.
When ever customers adds a photos to your business profiles Google will send notifications to you.



Marissa also said that Google has "refreshed the notification email style" going forward, so those emails will look new.

Google now testing advanced verification for Google My business, because they wants to reduce fraud and improve overall experience for customers.  

Verification process is very simple – You have to give answer a few question about your business and complete an application with Google Third Party Verification Company. After Passing advanced verification process your business will eligible to appear on Google Maps.


Confirm your business info

To review and confirm your business info for advanced verification:


1.      Navigate to advanced verification.
2.      Enter the business owner’s name and the best phone number to reach you.
3.      Choose your Google My Business location in San Diego. If you have multiple locations, select your primary location in San Diego.
4.      Review and update your business hours. If you haven't yet entered business hours, you’ll need to add them to complete advanced verification.
5.      Select all cities your serve from the list. Only businesses in Greater San Diego are eligible for advanced verification at this time.
6.      Select the services you offer from the list.
7.      Enter your professional licenses.
8.      Click Submit.

AdWords New Version with New Features

AdWords adds many new features to Editor Version 11.4, Like Support for App Extension, Review Extension, Frequency Capping, Mobile App Install Campaigns and Taget/CPA Bid Strategy  

1.       Faster Campaign Creation
The “Add campaign” button now has a drop-down menu that lets you select which campaign type to create. When you create campaigns this way, certain default settings specific to campaign types will be set. For example, for video campaigns, bidding is set to Manual CPV, video settings are enabled, and two content exclusions are pre-configured. For Shopping campaigns, languages are set to “all.”

2.       Ads and extensions are separated in navigation
In the type list, ads and extensions are now separated into two sections: “Ads” and “Ad extensions.”

3.       App Extensions
You can now create and edit app extensions in AdWords Editor. App extensions showcase your mobile or tablet app by showing a link to your app below your ad.

4.       Review Extensions
AdWords Editor now fully supports review extensions, which highlight third-party reviews in your ads.

5.       Mobile App Installs
You can now create mobile app installs campaigns for your Display Network ads in AdWords Editor.

6.       Broad Match Modifier In Duplicate Keywords Tool
The find duplicate keywords tool now ignores the broad match modifier match type when you select the “Duplicates can have different match types” option.

7.       Target CPA Bid Strategy
You can now change your campaign’s bid strategy to Target CPA.

8.       Frequency Capping

To limit the number of times the same person will see your Display Network ad, you can now edit the frequency capping campaign setting and export it for archiving and sharing. However, CSV import and export aren’t supported.

Google Maps Added Keyboard Based Navigation

Google Maps has added keyboard based navigation controls to the desktop version of Google Maps. So now you can use your keyboard to pan and zoom within Google Maps, without touching your mouse. You can also use your keyboard to find and learn more about specific places like neighborhoods, transit stations and shops and restaurants.

Google documented how this works on Google+:
  1. On your keyboard, press Tab to focus the map. An area of the map will be highlighted with a square.
  2. Below the square, there will be a numbered list of places in that area.
  3. To move around the map, use the arrow keys. To move the map by one square, hold down Shift while using the arrow keys.
  4. To zoom in or out of the map, press + or –
  5. To learn more about a place, press the number associated with the place
